It might be helpful, if something goes wrong. StepMania Telecommunication Systems 3065 .id StepMania StepMania. Where query string hideattic=0 is to show dead files (otherwise click "Show X dead files" in a listing). You can view the deleted Stepmania ebuilds online at Unfortunately some Gentoo devs are getting militant about unmaintained (within Gentoo or upstream) packages which even crazily included Compiz recently! However that you can still access all deleted portage ebuilds and files in CVS so no need to worry about loosing a local copy. I'm an occasional player of Stepmania too, keyboard only no dance pad. You can still get this game's ebuilds from here. If you put it in the world file it won't be removed. This would be my last option, because I like how Gentoo portage works. Seems that Arch Linux has got a Stepmania package in AUR. The situation sucks at the moment and I don't know what to do. Seems, it is not very different from the installation procedure, except there are more directories one has to create manually. I wish someone would take a look at this and restore the 3.9 version and perhaps try to add the 5-beta.

The result is, I won't be able to update Gentoo anymore, because I could accidently remove my working setup. So I think that there was a misunderstanding to remove this ebuild. But this is highly unstable (see reports) and there is not real version 4.x which has ever replaced 3.9. Gundam-Dude wrote: Index Two hands (Two fingers) Spread Two Hands (Four fingers) It's recommended that you play Spread for jump and jump stream loaded songs though it is more difficult to master. Stepmania was also removed because of an announce that there is already version 5.

But the point is, there was an ebuild for this and it installed well. I can see that the package is not very clean, because the developers obviously don't support Linux very well. I've seen, stepmania (stable version 3.9) was scheduled for automated(?) removal about a week ago and now it really disappeared. It works well, never seen a crash and I have a lot of fun with it. I prefer a Linux distribution instead of MS-Windows. I installed Gentoo just to play 1 single game: Stepmania. Sadly 2 or 3 songs even got corrupted between PC transfers, one of which is an unknown remix of (green) Brinstar from Super Metroid that I got from BemaniStyle before that site had major data loss sometime in the mid-2000s. The main reason I care about being able to run it in an emulator is for a much more elegant solution to being cross-platform and/or platform independent considering that I've still got 2000+ StepMania songs from 15+ years ago originating from an old Win98SE PC that ran on a 533MHz Celeron. The song > constantly goes back and forth from 3/4 and 5/4. The list will still be viewable by anyone, however only a handful will be able to edit it directly.

This means that no new editors/commenters will be added, and all permissions below full-access editor have been purged. My only guess is that people specifically wanted handheld versions and saw no need for home-console versions when the PC version exists. The UNDERTALE Music Sample List is now officially archived.

Why you might ask? Because AFAIK this should by far be the only version of StepMania that runs on a platform with very active emulator development that isn't natively a mere 272p or 192p since, for some crazy reason, there never was an adequately-functional Wii homebrew port/recreation (which still kind of burns me up) despite there being two recreations for the DS (DsDsR and DDS) and one port and one recreation for the PSP (PSPMania and PSPR). Slight necro-posting, but I just want to thank OP very much for making this StepMania port despite not actually owning a Switch. You can find for example a few packs of songs on Stepmania Online or Otaku's Dream Website here.

You can install songs by simply putting them in a subfolder of your Songs-folder in the directory you installed Stepmania to. Then, run the game from the hbmenu using hbl.īe sure to run it as an app, it won't work as an applet (you may get a black screen and/or crashes).

It is customizable with user-made add-ons such as themes, and provides an integrated editor for creating your own simfiles. It supports common key-based rhythm game formats (including 4-panel and 5-panel dance games among others), as well as Switch controllers (joycons recommended for their individual buttons), keyboard and dance pad controllers (ex: Gamecube ones with adapter). StepMania is a free and open source, cross-platform rhythm game.
